A Meditation on the Erosion of the Human Experience

DISSOLUTION is a hauntingly poetic video artwork that explores the disintegration of identity and presence in the wake of relentless technological advancement. Through abstract forms and shifting silhouettes bathed in a warm, almost nostalgic glow, the piece evokes a sense of fading memory of something once tangible, now slipping into digital abstraction. The work juxtaposes organic shapes with stark voids, suggesting the tension between the natural and the synthetic. The figure-like forms, barely discernible, seem to dissolve into the background, echoing how screens, algorithms, and data streams increasingly mediate our lives. The central motif is a solitary figure engulfed in light and shadow, which becomes a metaphor for the individual caught in the machinery of progress: illuminated by innovation, yet obscured by its pace. Technological progress promises connection, efficiency, and transcendence. As we outsource memory to devices, delegate decisions to AI, and curate our identities through digital avatars, the boundaries of the self begin to blur. The artwork doesn’t condemn technology, but it mourns what quietly vanishes in its wake: slowness, intimacy, imperfection.
